BJP slams TMC Govt over attack on BJP MP and MLA in West Bengal

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) The Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) today launched a scathing attack on the West Bengal government led by Mamata Banerjee over the recent life-threatening attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu, who belongs to the tribal community, and a BJP MLA during their visit to flood-affected areas.
Addressing a press conference here, senior BJP leader and former union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s silence on the incident and criticised her for failing to condemn the attack.
“Mamata Banerjee often speaks of ‘Maa, Maati, Maanush’ (Mother, Motherland and People), but the current state of Bengal under her leadership is such that even union Ministers and elected representatives cannot visit flood-hit areas,” he said.
