UPA Govt was a puppet of foreign powers, charges BJP

New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today criticised former Home Minister P. Chidambaram for his tenure during the UPA regime, alleging that he acted under the influence of foreign powers and failed to effectively protect India’s national security.
At a press conference here, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia referred to an interview in which Chidambaram ेंsaid that following the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, India did not retaliate against Pakistan due to pressure from abroad, particularly the United States. Chidambaram disclosed that he assumed office as Home Minister the day after the attacks and credited Congress President Sonia Gandhi with playing a significant role in the decision.
Bhatia asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has grown stronger with the armed forces enjoying complete operational freedom. Citing Operation Sindoor as an example, he said India has delivered a firm message to its adversaries.
