AAP backs MTS workers’ strike, slams BJP over equal pay row

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh met with striking Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) employees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi today, lending support to their demand for equal pay for equal work and sharply criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party for its inaction.
AAP has claimed that over 5,000 MTS employees have been on strike for 11 days, protesting outside the Civic Centre. They argue that they are paid less than other employees for performing the same duties.
During the protest, Sanjay Singh accused the BJP-led MCD and the central government of ignoring the workers' legitimate demands and showing disrespect to the Supreme Court, which has upheld the principle of equal pay for equal work. "The BJP’s so-called four-engine government has completely broken down. The only way to fix it is through struggle, protest, and relentless fight," Singh stated.
