PM Modi says union Budget reinforces India’s growth commitment

New Delhi, March 3 (UNI) ‎ Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said this year’s union Budget strengthens India’s commitment to sustaining and accelerating economic growth, as he addressed a post-budget webinar with industry leaders and stakeholders.
‎Highlighting the government’s long-term economic vision, the Prime Minister asserted that policy direction and intent remain firm. “Our direction is clear… our resolve is clear… Build more, produce more, connect more… export more,” he said, outlining what he described as the core pillars of India’s growth strategy.

Emphasizing India’s expanding global engagement, Modi noted that the country has signed Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with several nations, opening new avenues for domestic businesses.

“India has signed Free Trade Agreements with many countries. A very large door of opportunities has opened for us,” he said. “In such a situation, it is our responsibility to never compromise on quality.”

The Prime Minister stressed that Indian manufacturers and exporters must align with global benchmarks to fully capitalize on these agreements. He urged industry to focus on innovation, high standards, and value addition to strengthen India’s competitiveness in international markets.

Pointing to broader shifts in the global economic landscape, Modi said the world is undergoing a significant transformation.

“Today, a major transformation is taking place in the global economy. Markets no longer look only at cost; they also look at sustainability,” he said.

He underlined that sustainability, green growth, and resilient supply chains are increasingly influencing global trade patterns. The union Budget, he added, reflects these priorities by encouraging investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, clean energy, and digital connectivity.

The Prime Minister described the Budget as a blueprint designed to maintain macroeconomic stability while accelerating growth across sectors. He called on industry leaders, exporters, and state governments to work collaboratively to implement reforms effectively.

With a renewed push on manufacturing, connectivity, and exports, the government aims to position India as a reliable global partner in a rapidly evolving economic order.

“Our direction is clear,” Modi reiterated, signaling continuity in the government’s strategy to drive investment, expand trade, and ensure sustainable development.
