From Tehran to Tel Aviv: India expands evacuation, assistance amid regional strain

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday said it is closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Gulf and West Asia region, with sustained efforts underway to ensure the safety, security and welfare of Indian nationals amid the ongoing geopolitical tensions.
At an official briefing, the MEA said dedicated control rooms have been set up and are functioning round-the-clock in coordination with Indian missions abroad. The Ministry is also in regular contact with State Governments and union Territories to ensure seamless information sharing and coordinated response.
Indian Missions and Posts in the region have activated 24x7 helplines and are extending proactive assistance to Indian nationals, while maintaining close engagement with local authorities. Regular advisories are being issued to keep citizens informed about local regulations, travel updates, flight operations and available consular services.
