India, Jordan ink twinning agreement between UNESCO Heritage sites of Petra & Ellora Caves

Amman/New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) India and Jordan today inked an agreement on twinning between the Ellora Caves and Petra, two of the world's most significant UNESCO World Heritage sites, renowned for their "rock-cut" architecture.
The agreement was inked following talks between PM Modi and King Abdullah II in Amman today.
In both Petra, located in southern Jordan, in the Ma'an Governorate, near the town of Wadi Musa, and in Ellora, located in Maharashtra, entire buildings and temples were carved directly out of solid rock rather than being built from the ground up.
