India, Arab nations need to take bilateral-ties to new heights, Arab League Ambassador Jameel

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) India and Arab nations need to work together to eliminate terrorism and extremism that pose a serious threat to world peace, a top diplomat said on Wednesday.
“We share a common stance in combating extremism and security threats emanating from across borders. We can achieve this objective of fighting against terrorism through intelligence sharing and joint initiatives," Ambassador of the League of Arab states Yusuf Mohamed Jameel said here.
"The aim is to foster peace and security in the world”, the Ambassador said in a statement.
Jameel strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack in which 26 innocent people were killed.
He also welcomed the ceasefire between India and Pakistan and stated that this was essential for peace and stability in South Asian region. “We firmly support the resolution of dispute between the two countries through dialogue and peaceful means, and such approach is essential not only for political stability but also for the economic progress of the countries of the region," said Ambassador Jameel.
He hoped that the next session of the Arab-India ministerial operation forum will be held in the near future to further broaden the area of cooperation between the two sides. "Such high-level engagement is essential for giving required push to our bilateral relations. We should not remain confined to political matters but also encompass economic, energy and security-related matters”, he said.
