LG, CM pay last respects, Delhi BJP chief's father Shyam Lal Sachdeva's last rites performed at Nigam Bodh Ghat

New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) Last rites of Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva's father Shyam Lal Sachdeva were performed at the Nigam Bodh Ghat on Wednesday in presence of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and several other dignitaries along with a large number of party workers.
Shyam Lal Sachdeva, had passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday at age 94. Paying respects to Sachdeva, the Chief Minister said that through his simplicity and hard work in difficult circumstances, he nurtured his family and also instilled values of social service among his relatives.
Gupta further said that it was the result of Sachdeva's good values carried forward to his children. His son, Virendra Sachdeva, is serving as the state president of the country's largest political party. Sachdeva is survived by his wife Krishna Sachdeva, a daughter with her husband, and a family of five sons, including the Delhi BJP chief, who is the youngest.
