PM Modi congratulates Andrej Babiš on reappointment as Czech Prime Minister, vows to strengthen ties

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended his congratulations to Andrej Babiš on his reappointment as the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, signalling India's desire to further deepen the bilateral "cooperation and friendship" between the two nations.
In a message posted on the platform X, PM Modi addressed his Czech counterpart: “Congratulations, Excellency Andrej Babiš, on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. I look forward to working with you to further strengthen the cooperation and friendship between India and Czechia.”
The congratulatory message comes shortly after populist billionaire Andrej Babiš was sworn in by Czech President Petr Pavel earlier today, marking a return to power for the leader of the ANO (YES) movement, who previously served as Prime Minister from 2017 to 2021. Babiš' return follows his party's victory in the October parliamentary election, where he formed a majority coalition with two smaller political groups.
