Budget aims to benefit only 25 billionaires, alleges Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) Reiterating his charge that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working for a few rich
people only, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that the aim of his
government’s budget was to benefit just 25 billionaires at the cost of the common people.
Addressing a public meeting at Sadar Bazar in support of the party candidate, Anil Bhardwaj, he also accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal of stealing public money and indulging in corruption.
He said that the aim of the BJP-RSS is to snatch the money of public and give it to the billionaires of India. He accused Modi of destroying the small and medium businesses that provided employment by implementing demonetisation and GST.
Gandhi said rich businessmen like Adani and Ambani did not suffer losses due to GST, rather small and medium businesses were destroyed.
This is the reason why the youth in the country are not getting employment, he asserted, while pointing out today the country has the highest unemployment in the last 50 years.
Accusing the BJP-RSS of destroying the Constitution, Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress party is fighting to save the Constitution.
He said that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat says that India did not get independence on August 15, 1947, but got it after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister.
“This statement of Bhagwat is a direct attack on the Constitution,” he remarked.
The senior Congress leader accused AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal of stealing public money through corruption and making false promises.
He said that Kejriwal had talked about bringing a new kind of politics, eradicating corruption, pollution and cleaning the Yamuna river.
But he committed the biggest scam, he pointed out, while referring to the
liquor scam, adding, he has stolen public money through corruption.
“Like Modi, Kejriwal also makes only false promises,” he remarked.
Rahul Gandhi reminded people how Kejriwal travelled in a small Wagon-R car and eventually landed in the Sheesh Mahal, worth crores of rupees.
Showing the poster of ‘team Kejriwal’, he said that among these nine AAP leaders, there is not a single Dalit, backward, tribal or minority person.
Accusing Kejriwal of being anti-Dalit, he said that Kejriwal brought a scholarship scheme for Dalits and gave only Rs 25 lakh for the scholarship and spent Rs 25 crore on advertising for it.
