New Delhi, July 8 (UNI) Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has adopted the villages of Pochanpur and Amberhai in South-West Delhi with the aim of transforming them into ‘smart villages’.
The initiative, led by Padma awardee Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor of the university, seeks to ensure holistic development in education, environment, health, training, awareness, skill development, and sports.
During a recent visit to these villages, Prof. Verma highlighted the university’s commitment to corporate social responsibility. “The university has a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and will like to take down the classroom information to the neighbouring community for their transformation,” he said.
