ED raids Ex-IAS JK Dhruv’s residence in CGPSC scam probe

New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted search operations at nearly a dozen locations in connection with the alleged Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) recruitment scam, marking the agency's entry into the high-profile case.
According to ED sources, searches were conducted at the Bhilai residence of retired IAS officer J.K. Dhruv and other locations linked to former CGPSC Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani.
The raids are part of the agency's investigation into alleged irregularities in the CGPSC State Service Examinations conducted between 2020 and 2022. The ED is probing suspected financial transactions and the alleged generation and use of proceeds of crime linked to the recruitment process.
According to sources, the agency is examining allegations that then CGPSC Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani abused his official position to provide undue benefits to relatives, family members and close associates during the recruitment process.
The recruitment drive for several key administrative posts, including Deputy Collector and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), had come under scrutiny after allegations surfaced that candidates linked to influential individuals were favoured in the selection process.
The ED searches are being conducted as part of an ongoing probe into the alleged recruitment scam. Further details are awaited.
