Eight killed, 24 injured in car explosion. PM, HM take stock of the situation

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Eight people were killed and more than 24 injured in a high-intensity explosion that tore through a car near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening.
The blast set multiple vehicles ablaze and shattered nearby windowpanes. Several other people are feared injured, an official said. Police have sounded high alert across Delhi and NCR following the incident. According to the Delhi Fire Services, seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot as police cordoned off the area.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation and spoke with the Home Minister for an update. The Home Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the situation. The Home Minister is closely monitoring the situation and called up Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha for details.
