Delhi Police's "Bangladeshi Conspiracy" case transferred to NIA in crackdown on migration rackets

Atul Krishan, New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) A high-profile case involving a deeper conspiracy behind the alleged facilitation of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the national capital has been transferred from the Delhi Police to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). This move escalates the ongoing crackdown on what authorities describe as organised networks enabling illegal migration and settlement of Bangladeshi citizens in Delhi.
The case in question originated from one of at least two "mother conspiracy" First Information Reports (FIRs) registered by the Delhi Police, marking a significant step in a major operation targeting these alleged networks. The directive for this action came from the then Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora on March 6, 2025 with instructions to file the FIRs by April 5, 2025 to probe the intricate rackets.
Multiple units of the Delhi Police, including the Special Cell, Crime Branch, and various law-and-order units, were mobilised for the investigation. Their mandate was to map the entire ecosystem of illegal migration, including routes of unauthorised entry, syndicates producing fake documents, providers of housing, and facilitators of illegal employment.
