Budget 2025-26: What gets cheaper and what will cost more

New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the Union Budget 2025-26 in Lok Sabha on Saturday proposed to further rationalise custom duty structure in order to support local manufacturing and value addition, promote exports, facilitate trade and provide relief to common people.
The proposed move makes certain goods cheaper while some of them get costlier.
Accordingly, as many as 36 life-saving drugs for cancer and chronic diseases will get cheaper as they will be fully exempted from Basic Customs Duty (BCD).
