CBI arrests Delhi Police SI while accepting a bribe of Rs 40K

New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation today said that they have arrested a sub-inspector of Delhi Police posted at PS North Delhi for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a man for not arresting his cousin and also helping him to secure anticipatory bail.
A CBI official said that they registered the case on Tuesday against SI Vijay Singh on allegations that the accused demanded illegal gratification of Rs 50,000 from the complainant for not arresting his cousin and also helping him to secure anticipatory bail.
After negotiation, the SI agreed to accept the bribe of Rs 40,000 for not arresting his cousin. The CBI laid a trap and caught Singh red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe.
