Airlines cancel flights to three UAE cities on Sunday amid middle east situation

New Delhi, March 15 (UNI) Flight operations between India and parts of the United Arab Emirates were disrupted on Sunday as airlines announced cancellations and schedule changes following restrictions imposed by airport authorities in the region amid the evolving situation in the Middle East.
In a post on social media, Air India said that following instructions from UAE airport authorities, both Air India and Air India Express had to further curtail their ad-hoc operations for March 15.
“All Air India Express flights planned for the day to and from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah stand cancelled,” the airline said.
The airline added that both Air India and Air India Express will operate only one round trip each on the Delhi–Dubai route for the day.
The flights will operate subject to slot availability and prevailing conditions at the time of departure.
Passengers booked on cancelled or temporarily suspended services have been given the option to rebook their tickets for a future date without any additional charge or opt for a full refund.
Air India said it regretted the inconvenience caused to passengers and reiterated its commitment to bringing stranded travellers home safely at the earliest opportunity.
Meanwhile, IndiGo also informed passengers about changes in its flight schedule due to restrictions in Dubai.
“Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, flight operations have been further restricted in Dubai, leading to changes in flight schedules,” the airline said in an update on social media platform X.
Airlines are closely monitoring the situation and have advised passengers to check the latest flight status before heading to airports.
