New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The All India Mahila Congress, led by its president Alka Lamba,, will 'gherao Parliament' on Monday demanding immediate implementation of the 33 per cent Women Reservation in Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies.
According to a statement, the Mahila Congress will gherao Parliament and protest at Jantar Mantar at 10:30 AM under the leadership of Alka Lamba on March 10.
It may be mentioned that on the occasion of International Women's Day on Saturday, Lamba, while addressing the partys women's wing, had said the Women Reservation Bill had only been passed and not implemented which is injustice and betrayal to the half population.
Lamba had said that she, along with thousands of women activists and supporters, will demand that the government prioritise the passing of the Women’s Reservation Bill to ensure that women are given fair political representation.
