Delhi CM and Cabinet leave for thanks-giving visit to Golden Temple

New Delhi, December 8 (UNI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, accompanied by her entire Cabinet, departed from Delhi for Amritsar for a thanks-giving visit to Golden Temple Amritsar on Sunday. The delegation is set to visit the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) on Monday to offer ‘shukrana’ (thanks-giving) for the historic success of the three-day ‘Gurmat Samagam’ held at Delhi’s Red Fort.
The event was organised on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and witnessed the participation of nearly six lakh devotees over three days. The Chief Minister described this overwhelming turnout as the grace of Guru Sahib and evidence that the legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji continues to unite society.
She emphasised that the visit is not a mere formality, but a profound expression of faith and gratitude towards the Guru tradition. It also stands as a mark of the Delhi Government’s respect for the Sikh community and a reaffirmation of Delhi’s shared heritage, demonstrating how the Guru’s guidance binds people together even in challenging times.
