Green fund for key departments; 17 of them tasked to drive green initiatives: Delhi CM

New Delhi, April 5 (UNI) Delhi’s budget this time is comprehensively prepared, prioritising the need to protect environment, earmarking Rs 22,236 Cr. from the total allocation of Rs 103,700 Cr. for green initiatives, aimed to not only preserve the city’s environment, but also give a direction for the future.
Around 21.44 per cent of the total budget has been kept for green initiatives, clearly signaling Rekha Gupta government’s environmental priorities, and the responsibility for delivering on these goals has been systematically distributed, with a total of 17 key departments receiving phased allocations to ensure coordinated action across sectors.
Importantly, the Chief Minister has clearly said that all departmental expenditures will now be mapped against green objectives, to ensure that the spending aligns directly with environmental outcomes.
