Nearly 10 lakh travel back as India ensures safe movement from West Asia

New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday said India is maintaining active diplomatic engagement and closely monitoring the evolving situation in West Asia, with the safety and welfare of Indian nationals in the region remaining a top priority.
The update was shared during an inter-ministerial briefing on ongoing developments and assistance measures being extended through Indian Missions.
The MEA highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently held a telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which both leaders reviewed progress in bilateral ties and discussed the situation in West Asia. They emphasised the importance of ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open and secure for global maritime traffic.
