Indian Idol 15 contestant Ritika's unforgettable meeting with Lata Mangeshkar

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) This weekend, Indian Idol Season 15 on Sony Entertainment Television will take viewers on a melodious journey down memory lane with a special episode titled ‘Celebrating 100 Years of Madan Mohan.’

Adding to the excitement, the stage will be graced by Shabana Azmi, Anjali Anand, Shalini Pandey, Manoj Muntashir, and Nitin Mukesh.

Ritika Raj, also known as Idol ki Basanti, will be seen mesmerising the judges with soulful renditions of ‘Aap Ki Nazron Ne Samjha’ and ‘Milo Na Tum Toh Hum Ghabraye’, leaving everyone in awe of her talent.

Not just that, Ritika’s captivating story of meeting another legend of the Indian music industry, Lata Mangeskar, makes the episode even more entertaining and engaging.

Ritika says, “I have a photo from when I was 13 years old, where I had my head resting on her (Lata ji) lap. When she entered, it felt as though there was an aura of light around her. She greeted us with a Namaskar and told us to sit, reassuring us not to be scared of her. In just two hours, she shared so much with us, explaining how recordings happen. She even brought samosas for us. We were all nervous about eating in front of her, but she said, "I also eat everything, so you should too."

Ritika feels meeting the iconic singers is the biggest blessing of her life.

She added, "I may not know what the future holds or how successful I will become, but I feel my life is already successful because I have been blessed with two Saraswati Maa’s - Lata ji and Shreya ji."
