Poster for Zendaya, Pattinson’s 'The Drama' sparks engagement-style buzz

Los Angeles, Dec 11 (UNI) In a playful twist that briefly fooled fans, the makers of ‘The Drama,’ the upcoming film starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, unveiled its poster in a way that resembled an engagement announcement.
Zendaya shared the image on Instagram, captioning it: “THE DRAMA. Formal invitation to follow.”
The poster features the duo in an intimate close-up, with Zendaya prominently displaying an engagement ring as Pattinson wraps an arm around her.
Moments later, the actor revealed more context in a follow-up post, introducing their characters—Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson, an engaged couple at the centre of the story.
Written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, ‘The Drama’ marks his fourth feature and second collaboration with A24. Borgli, known for the Golden Globe–nominated Dream Scenario starring Nicolas Cage, completed filming the project late last year.
The cast also includes Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Gates, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While plot details remain under wraps, the film is teased as exploring a relationship that takes a sudden and dramatic turn just before the couple’s wedding.
The film is produced by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen under their Square Peg banner, along with Borgli and Tyler Campellone of Dilemma Films, in partnership with A24. ‘The Drama’ is slated to release in theatres on April 3, 2026.
Meanwhile, both Zendaya and Pattinson are also lined up for major upcoming projects, including Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three, as reported by Variety.
