Odisha CM calls for global recognition of indigenous sports at Waves 2025

Bhubaneswar, May 3 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has called for global recognition of indigenous sports at WAVES 2025.
Delivering the keynote address at a special session titled “Indigenous Sports – From India to the Global Stage” at the prestigious WAVES 2025 – World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit held in Mumbai on Saturday, Majhi highlighted the cultural, social, and global significance of India’s traditional sports.
Drawing from his upbringing in Keonjhar, a tribal-dominated hinterland district of Odisha, the Chief Minister reflected on his early sporting experiences with kabaddi and kho-kho.

A report from Dehradun said a chopper crashed near the Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand early Sunday, claiming seven people on board, including six pilgrims and the pilot.
