Three persons from Bengal killed in terror attack in Pahalgam

Kolkata, Apr 23 (UNI) At least three individuals from West Bengal, including an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The victims have been identified as Samir Guha, Bitan Adhikari and Manish Ranjan. Guha and Adhikari were residents of Kolkata, while Ranjan hailed from the Purulia district and was serving as an IB officer in Hyderabad.

Kendrapara, May 13 (UNI) Forest personnel from Bhitarkanika National Park on Tuesday recovered the body of a 4.8-feet-long male estuarine crocodile from the Kochia river bank near Silapokhari village in Rajnagar block.

PIL filed in Cal HC questioning funding of recently consecrated Jagannath Temple at Digha

Kolkotta, May 13 (UNI) A PIL was filed in the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday questioning the alleged funding of the recently consecrated Jagannath Temple at Digha in East Midnapore by the West Bengal Government.
The Public Interest Litigation was filed by Advocate Kaustav Bagchi, a BJP functionary, before the division bench of Justices Soumen Sen and Smita Das De, challenging the funding of the construction of a religious place by the government under the secular system of the Constitution.

Mizoram inks 3-year MoU with BRLF to boost rural livelihoods
