Kamarhati TMC MLA Madan Mitra claims attack on convoy amid midnight protest

Kolkata, Jun 7 (UNI) Trinamool Congress MLA from Kamarhati, Madan Mitra, has alleged that his vehicle was attacked and vandalised by protesters when he visited an area in Kamarhati, in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, following reports of unrest.
According to Mitra, the incident took place late Saturday night in Ward No. 14 of the Kamarhati Municipality, where protests had been underway outside the residence of local councillor Arindam Biswas over alleged cut-money issues.
Mitra said he was on his way to meet the councillor when he was confronted by a large crowd.
