Odisha to install statues of 21 great personalities across the State: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar, June 11 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday announced that statues of 21 great personalities will be installed at various locations across the state in the coming days.
Majhi said that, in addition to unveiling the statues, the government plans to establish memorial museums, interpretation centers, kindergartens, and other related infrastructure in the birthplaces of these eminent figures of Odisha.
“We will develop their villages as model villages in about 100 to 150 locations across the state, where these great personalities were born,” Majhi stated.

SIT team visits Salt Lake stadium to probe Messi event fiasco

Kolkata, Dec 17 (UNI) The four-member SIT headed by Director Security Peeyush Pandey has visited Salt Lake Stadium to make a study, a day after the Nabanna constituted the high-powered police team to probe the fiasco where fans vandalised the galleries and pitch after failing to see football maestro Lionel Messi.

Bodies of two Bengal fishermen recovered, search on for three others

Kolkata, Dec 17 (UNI) The bodies of two missing fishermen were recovered on Wednesday, while search operations continued for three others after their trawler capsized in an alleged hit-and-run incident involving a Bangladeshi vessel in the mid-stream of the Bay of Bengal on Monday, official sources in South 24 Parganas said.
The bodies were found inside the capsized fishing trawler, which was located by the search team on Tuesday evening. The trawler was towed to Moynapara dock along the Kakdwip coast in the early hours of Wednesday.
