Patna, Apr 2 (UNI) TMC MP and Hindi film actor of yesteryears Shatrughan Sinha, popularly known as Shot-gun, on Tuesday said that BJP would not cross 175 mark in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Sinha told media persons here that BJP under no circumstances, would get more than 175 seats in ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Despite best efforts, BJP was not going to get over150 to 175 seats in Lok Sabha elections, as days of tampering with EVMs were now over, he added.
" Supreme Court has accepted a petition relating to EVMs and will keep strict vigil on Election Commission to ensure fair Lok Sabha elections", TMC MP said adding that it would not be easy for BJP government to tamper with EVMs.
Despite tampering with EVMs in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he emerged victorious from the Asansol Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal, due to massive support extended to him by the people. There was no question for him to change his constituency Asansol and try luck from any seat in Bihar, he clarified.
" People of Asansol and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have reposed faith in me and it would be betrayal if I change the constituency to contest from any seat in Bihar ", Sinha said adding that he would not commit such betrayal. Ms Banerjee was the most popular, dynamic, and effective leader of the country, he remarked.
TMC MP welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court to grant bail to AAP leader Sanjay Singh. At last, truth has prevailed, he noted.
