Mamata warns against religious polarisation as state braces for 'new' Babri Mosque, BJP cadre chant Gita slokas

Kolkata, Dec 6 (UNI) At a time when Humayun Kabir is laying the foundation stone of the proposed Babri mosque in Murshidabad and the BJP is gearing up for Gita chanting programmes across West Bengal, creating a charged atmosphere of religious polarisation, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stressed the need for unity and harmony, using the occasion of Sanhati Diwas to underline Bengal’s centuries-old tradition of coexistence on Saturday.
Responding to the rising political temperature, Mamata Banerjee posted a strongly worded message on her X handle on Sanhati Diwas, a day the TMC observes as Babri Masjid Demolition Day, reminding citizens that Bengal’s identity is rooted in pluralism.
“I extend my sincere greetings to everyone on Sanhati Diwas/Sampriti Diwas. Bengal is the land of unity, the land of Tagore, Nazrul, Ramakrishna, and Vivekananda. This soil has never bowed to divisiveness, and it never will,” she wrote.

JEPC releases list of Jharkhand schools selected for clean and green school rating

Ranchi, Jan 15 (UNI) The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has released the list of schools selected under the Clean and Green School Rating (SHVR) and the Chief Minister Clean School Award (MSVP).
