Assam's veteran BJP leader Rajen Gohain resigns from the saffron party ahead of next year's elections

Guwahati, Oct 9 (UNI) The ruling BJP in Assam received a body blow after veteran saffron leader and four time Lok Sabha MP, Rajen Gohain resigned from the saffron party.
Gohain, who had won the Nowgong (pronounced Nagaon) Lok Sabha constituency for four consecutive terms from 1999 to 2019, has not made it clear if he is joining any other political party.
Gohain was also inducted in the union Cabinet as a Minister of state for Railways in 2016.

HYC seeks CBI clarification on proposed construction of religious structure inside Shillong office

Shillong, Nov 14 (UNI) A prominent pressure group in Meghalaya has submitted a petition to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeking immediate clarification on reports of a proposed or ongoing construction of a religious structure, purportedly a temple, within the premises of the agency's office at Mawdiangdiang in the New Shillong Township.
