Odisha CM calls for boost in iron ore production to meet rising demand

Bhubaneswar, Apr 7 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has urged mining leaseholders and industrialists to increase iron ore production in the state in response to the growing demand for the mineral across the country.
Chairing a high-level meeting with key stakeholders, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to enhance both production and dispatch while adhering to the minimum mandatory limits under the Mine Development and Production Agreement (MDPA).
He assured industry representatives that the state government would extend full support to facilitate increased output.

Former food and supplies minister being questioned by ED

Kolkata, May 15 (UNI) The former minister of the food and supplies department Rathin Ghosh landed at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Salt Lake's CGO Complex for questioning on Friday morning regarding the public distribution and municipal recruitment scam.
Ghosh, a senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) functionary, had earlier skipped five summons issued by the central agency. On Friday, he entered the CGO Complex at around 11am.
