Fuel crisis grips Mizoram with trucks stranded on NH-306

Aizawl, Sept 15 (UNI) An acute fuel shortage has hit Mizoram given the severely deteriorating condition of National Highway 306, the state's primary lifeline, particularly along the Kawnpui-Khamrang sector in Kolasib district bordering Assam.
Hundreds of trucks, including oil tankers, are stranded, further aggravating the crisis.
The All Mizoram Petroleum Dealers’ Association (AMPEDA) said on Sunday that most petrol stations have run out of petrol and diesel for days, as oil tankers, travelling from Silchar in Assam to Aizawl, are forced to move at a snail’s pace due to the poor condition of the highway.
