Troops honour soldier in Manipur who died in 1956

Imphal, Oct 30 (UNI) A solemn wreath laying ceremony was held today at Assam Rifles Battalion Headquarters in Moreh, Tengnoupal District to honour the legacy of JEM (Late) Jai Bahadur Rai, who made the supreme sacrifice on 30 October 1956 in the line of duty.
The tribute marked 69 years since the braveheart’s martyrdom, reaffirming Assam Rifles’ enduring commitment to its fallen heroes. Known for his exceptional courage and unwavering devotion to duty, JEM (Late) Jai Bahadur Rai’s actions remain etched in the Force’s proud history, inspiring generations to uphold the highest ideals of service and patriotism.
The ceremony began with the laying of wreaths, followed by a reflective homage recounting the gallant stand of the soldier who placed nation above self. A total of 155 personnel paid their respects, culminating in a Guard of Honour rendered with solemn precision.
