Mamata slams BJP over deportation of Bengali speakers, cites Maha incident

Kolkata, June 16 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday launched a scathing attack on the BJP in the Assembly, alleging that Bengali-speaking Indians were being wrongfully branded as illegal immigrants and deported.

She cited a recent incident in Maharashtra where three migrant workers from West Bengal were sent to Bangladesh allegedly for speaking Bengali.

Bhubaneswar, Nov 18 (UNI) The forest officials on Tuesday arrested seven marine fishermen from Andhra Pradesh on the charge of illegally fishing within the turtle congregation zone in Gahirmatha marine sanctuary of Odisha’s Kendrapara district, said forest officials.
The arrested marine fishermen were natives of Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. The trawl and fishing implements used by them for sea voyage in prohibited marine sanctuary areas were seized.

Kolkata airport achieves highest profit among airports in India for FY-24
