Minister Sukanta Majumdar pays tribute to Indian scientists and engineers

Kolkata, May 11 (UNI) Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Sunday paid glowing tributes to the Indian scientists and engineers who helped empower India as one of the nuclear capable nations as on this day in 1998, India had conducted nuclear underground tests at Pokhran.
"11th May 1998 — beneath the sands of Pokhran lay a proud proclamation of Bharat's self-reliance. On this day, Bharat boldly demonstrated its nuclear capability, declaring to the world that we not only dream — we deliver." Union Minister of State for Education and Development of Northeastern states Sukanta Majumdar said.
He said then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee had declared this historic day as 'National Technology Day', a day to salute the brilliance, dedication, and patriotism of our scientists and engineers,"Majumdar said on his X.
