Odisha: Youth sentenced to 20-year RI, Rs 60,000 fine imposed for raping minor girl

Kendrapara, Apr 16 (UNI)The Additional District and Session Judge-cum-Special Court on Wednesday sentenced a 25-year-old youth to 20 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and imposed a fine amount of Rs 60,000 for raping a five-year-old minor girl.
Manoj Kumar Sahoo, Special Public Prosecutor of Additional District Judge –cum-special judge (POCSO), said the victim’s mother lodged an FIR at Pattamundai Model police station alleging that in the wee hours of February 28, 2020 , one Chandra Sekhar Malik had entered her house and finding her 5-year-old daughter sleeping alone, raped her.
Chandrasekhar Malik (25) was overpowered by the family members when he tried to escape from the spot after committing the crime.
