Vedanta to invest Rs 50,000 crore in exploration and production of oil and gas in Assam

Guwahati, Feb 25 (UNI) Cairn Oil & Gas, part of Vedanta Group, and India’s largest private Oil & Gas producer, on Tuesday committed to an investment in exploration and production of oil and gas worth Rs. 50,000 crores in Assam.
Addressing the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit in Guwahati, Vedanta Chairman, Anil Agarwal emphasised the potential of the state to become a Mega basin, and India’s energy production hub.
The summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, union Ministers, industry captains, and business delegations from foreign countries.

Dutta was deplaned from a Hyderabad-bound special aircraft at the Kolkata airport and arrested by the police hours after the Salt Lake Stadium violence on Saturday.
