CM Majhi calls for accident-free Odisha, stresses collective responsibility for safety

Bhubaneswar, Sep 13 (UNI) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today urged citizens to work together to make Odisha an accident-free state, emphasizing that safety is a shared responsibility,
not just that of the government.
Majhi launched the “Zero Accident Day” (ZAD) campaign in Keonjhar, where he inaugurated the Zero Accident Selfie Point and felicitated road safety ambassadors.

Bengal govt to bring bill stripping panchayat pradhans of financial powers

Kolkata, Jul 15 (UNI) The West Bengal government is likely to table a Bill in the upcoming Assembly session starting from July 17 to strip elected gram panchayat pradhans of their financial powers and transfer those responsibilities to government officials through an amendment to the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973.
The proposed amendment is aimed at strengthening financial oversight, enhancing transparency and improving accountability in the implementation of rural development programmes across the state.
