WB Guv leads mass Gita chant at Brigade grounds; Crowd management go haywire

Kolkata, Dec 7 (UNI) A massive Gita chanting event at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground on Sunday drew thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad, with West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose emerging as the day’s most striking presence.
The programme, organised by the Sangh-affiliated Sanatan Sanskriti Sansad, had aimed to gather five lakh participants for a collective recitation of the Bhagavad Gita — a target that was visibly not met despite significant turnout.
The Governor arrived around 12:15 pm, walked on to the main stage and, in a rare moment for a constitutional head of state, recited Sanskrit verses from the Gita.
