CEO office to hold special camps in Sonagachi as SIR gaps surface

Kolkata, Dec 8 (UNI) The state CEO office will be conducting special assistance camps at three wards in the city — including Asia’s largest sex workers’ hub, Sonagachi following complaints that many sex workers are unable to trace documents dating back to 2002, a mandatory requirement under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
Commission officials will hear their grievances and attempt to resolve them, while the State CEO is expected to visit the camps to supervise the exercise.
State CEO Manoj Agarwal has also directed District Electoral Officers (DEOs) to hold camps, wherever necessary, in old-age homes, red-light areas, widow centres and clusters for persons with disabilities in the coming days.
