Cross-Border Economic ties with Bhutan take centre stage at 8th Bengal Global Business Summit 2025

Kolkata, Feb 12 (UNI) The 8th edition of Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) 2025, which brought together global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss investment opportunities and economic collaborations, has strengthened the trade and investment ties between Bengal and neighbouring Bhutan.
Vice-chairman and MD of Shyam Metalic Brij Bhushan Agarwal, who shared his insights in his capacity as the vice-president of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) at the recently concluded BGBS, said in a statement on Wednesday that strengthening trade and investment ties between Bengal and Bhutan at the summit played a vital role in positioning West Bengal as a preferred destination for international business and cross-border partnerships.
The summit facilitated discussions on industrial expansion, infrastructure development, renewable energy, and digital transformation, positioning Bengal as a global investment hub. Key topics included enhancing trade and logistics networks, advancing green energy initiatives, strengthening MSME sectors, and fostering innovation in manufacturing and technology.
