Odisha targets irrigation for 15 Lakh hectares by 2029–30: CM Majhi

Bhubaneswar, Oct 31 (UNI) The Odisha government has set an ambitious target to provide irrigation facilities to 15 lakh hectares of agricultural land across the state by 2029–30, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced today.
During his visit to the State Hydrological Data Centre, Majhi reviewed water levels in reservoirs and rivers, and examined the centre’s real-time monitoring system.
He also conducted a detailed review of the Water Resources Department’s functioning and ongoing projects.

Dhanbad, Dec 16 (UNI): Fifteen days after the toxic gas leak in Kendua­dih, authorities on Tuesday began borehole drilling and preparations for nitrogen filling, raising hopes of relief among affected residents. The area had earlier been declared unsafe following the leakage of carbon monoxide gas, which claimed two lives and left several others ill, forcing families to shift to relief camps.
