Jharkhand MLA Saryu Roy seeks report on Mango water supply scheme

Jamshedpur, June 10 (UNI) Jharkhand MLA Saryu Roy has sought a detailed report from the Mango Municipal Corporation on the status of the Mango Water Supply Scheme and implementation of civic development projects in the area.
In a letter to newly appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner Jitendra Yadav, Roy raised a series of questions regarding the functioning of the project's intake well, water treatment plant, distribution network and water supply system.
He sought details on the condition of pumps installed at the intake well, the quantity of water drawn daily for treatment, operational status of treatment facilities and the duration and timing of water supply to different localities.

Odisha panel clears premature release of Dara Singh, convicted in Staines murder case

Bhubaneswar, Jul 14 (UNI) The Odisha State Sentence Review Board (OSSRB) has recommended the premature release of Dara Singh, the life convict in the 1999 murder of Australian missionary Graham Stuart Staines and his two minor sons in Odisha's Keonjhar district, citing his "good behaviour" in prison.
The recommendation was made during the Board's meeting earlier this month, where it reviewed the cases of eligible life convicts for possible premature release.
