Arms, ammunition recovered, two arrested after multiple security operations across Manipur

Imphal, Dec 4 (UNI) Security Forces conducted a series of coordinated operations across Manipur on Wednesday, resulting in major recoveries of arms, explosives, and communication equipment, along with the arrest of two individuals.
In a major operation at the Loitang Sandum Hill Range under Sekmai Police Station in Imphal West district, Security Forces recovered a substantial cache of weapons and equipment. The seized items include one .303 rifle with two magazines, one double-barrel gun, one single-barrel gun, one 9 mm pistol with a magazine, and one No.36 high-explosive grenade without detonator. The recovery also includes 118 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, eight detonators, three tube-launching devices, eight assorted magazines, a .303 rifle foresight assembly, four BAOFENG hand-held radio sets, one patka helmet, two bulletproof vests, and a plastic bottle containing cleaning oil.
In another operation conducted the same day, Security Forces recovered arms and explosives from the foothill of Ngariyan Hill near Keirao Wangkhem. The items seized include one 12-bore single-barrel gun, one 9 mm SMG carbine with magazine, two No.36 hand grenades, an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing around 2 kg, and one tear gas grenade.
