Garden Reach resident accused of abduction and gang-rape of woman arrested

Kolkata, Nov 30 (UNI) A 24-year-old man, accused of abduction, drugging and the gangrape of a 28-year-old woman in the city, has been arrested from his Garden Reach home in the southern part of the city, official sources said.
The accused Altaf Alam, one of the three suspects, allegedly forced the woman into his car from a bus stand on EM Byepass on Friday around 9 PM. The men drugged her and after sexually assaulting her, dumped her on the Maidan area in the central part of the city the same night.
The married woman, a resident of the eastern part of the city who was rescued and taken to the SSKM Hospital, is undergoing treatment. She alleged that while she was waiting at a bus stand around 9 PM in EM Byepass, a car came close to her with three people on board, and one of them forced her into the vehicle.
