Violence erupts in Birbhum: TMC leader killed, five hurt in rival attack

Kolkata, Dec 6 (UNI) Rasbihari Sardar (50), the Trinamool Congress booth president of Thupsura in Nanoor, Birbhum district, was brutally lynched on Friday evening in a sudden attack by a rival group, leaving five others, including his son, injured, official sources said.
The injured have been admitted to a state-run hospital in Mongalkote, Purba Bardhaman district.
According to reports, the crime occurred while the attackers and the victims were seated together in the courtyard of a village temple, discussing community-related issues. Without warning, members of a rival group allegedly turned violent, assaulting them with sharp weapons. Rasbihari Sardar was struck on the head, fell to the ground, and died shortly afterward.
