BJP leading in 164 assembly seats: ECI

Kolkata, May 4 (UNI) Election result trends released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) showed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading in the West Bengal Assembly elections in 164 constituencies as of noon on Monday.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) is currently ahead in 81 seats, based on trends from 249 of the state’s 294 assembly constituencies.
The West Bengal election was conducted in two phases.
Voting for 152 constituencies took place on April 23, followed by polling in the remaining 142 seats on April 29.
The ECI announced repolls in the Falta constituency is scheduled for May 21, with the final results for that seat to be declared on May 24.
