Congress protests against Assam CM’s remarks on Kharge, demands public apology

Patna, April 9 (UNI) The Bihar unit of the Congress today staged protests against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over his alleged use of “derogatory and objectionable language” against party president Mallikarjun Kharge, demanding an immediate public apology.
Led by Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Rajesh Ram, hundreds of party workers demonstrated and burned an effigy of the Assam Chief Minister as a mark of protest.
Addressing the gathering, Ram termed the remarks against Kharge as “unfortunate, condemnable, and against democratic values.” He said Kharge is a senior, respected, and prominent Dalit leader who has dedicated his long public life to social justice, democratic principles, and the upliftment of marginalized communities.
