Odisha to incur Rs 17,600 crores to provide free health care

Bhubaneswar,Feb 12 (UNI) The Odisha cabinet on Monday approved a budgetary outlay of Rs.17,600 crores to be incurred in providing free health care facilities to 1.10 crore families for five years(2022-23 to 2026-27) under component B of the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY).
Under the B component of BSKY additional free healthcare facilities beyond government hospitals will be provided to 96.5 lakh economically vulnerable families through annual coverage of Rs.5lakh ( Rs.10 lakh for women members of the family ) per annum in private empaneled hospitals within and outside the state.
Official sources said that component B under the BKSY has been expanded to cover 1.10 crore families with the inclusion of all rural families in the state who are presently not covered under the BSKY through the BSKY Nabin Card for free health care for critical ailment at the empanelled private hospitals.
