Assam to publish book on Hazarika, plans to translate it into 23 languages

Guwahati, June 4 (UNI) In what could be a befitting tribute to the music maestro late Bhupen Hazarika, the BJP-led government in Assam has planned to publish a book on him. The book will be sent to a million people in different languages, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Wednesday.
The CM said the move was planned as part of the yearlong birth centenary celebration of Hazarika. Hazarika was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 2019.
He said that the first meeting of the Bhupen Hazarika birth centenary celebration committee was held at the Lok Seba Bhavan in Dispur on Wednesday. The meeting, chaired by the CM, was attended by several of his cabinet colleagues and other prominent personalities from the state’s cultural field.
